Social gaming platform WinZO said it has reached the milestone of 100 million registered users on its platform, making it the first non-Play Store app to do so. This comes four years after the launch of the regional language-focused app. About 90% of the company’s user base comprises users from urban and rural areas at Tier 2 to 5, of which 20% are women from rural India, the company said.

Paavan Nanda, CEO of WinZO said, “We aim for WinZO to be one of the best consumer technology products in the world that delivers a culturally relevant and safe interactive entertainment experience, putting Indian Gaming on the world map. With the recent rollout of 5G, we are excited about its application in gaming, which will see Indian gaming become a $10 billion industry in the next two years.

It partners with third-party game developers to host games and make them available to its registered users, ensuring effective game monetization from day 0 of game hosting. The platform is available in 12 languages, with a strong focus on mobile users first in small towns.

The Indian gaming industry has around 433 million active online gamers, generating revenues of over $1.5 billion, which is expected to reach $5 billion by 2025 with an annual CAGR growth of 25%.
