Swarmio Media (CSE: SWRM) continues to strengthen its relationship with the largest telecommunications provider in the Philippines. The firm revealed this morning that as part of an agreement with Globe Telecom and in partnership with Tencent Games, the company has launched an event focused on PUBG Mobile.
The event is being held as a way to drive subscriber growth for Globe Gamer Grounds, which is the white-labeled Ember platform developed by Swarmio. The event will allow consumers to earn points that can be redeemed for in-game currency, Steam gift cards, and other prizes.
With over 1.0 million monthly active users, the promotion is expected to entice the 85 million Globe customers to sign up for Globe Gamer Grounds. PUBG, which was developed by Level Infinite, a subsidiary of Tencent Games, is among the most popular games in the world, with over 30 million daily active users and over 700 million downloads this year. Last year, in-app purchases contributed significantly to gaming, generating over $2.0 billion in revenue in 2021.
“This is a very exciting time for Swarmio, as it marks the beginning of what we hope will be many strategic partnerships with game publishers, developers and distributors. Through our Ember platform, game developers and publishers games can also access large but underbanked player populations that have proven difficult to monetize in the past, due to a lack of payment options,” commented Timothy Thornton, Chief Growth Officer for Swarmio Media. .
Revenue generated on the Globe Gamer Grounds platform is currently split between Globe, Swarmio and TM Wholesale as part of a revenue sharing agreement put in place earlier this year.
Swarmio Media last traded at $0.095 on the CSE.
