Focus Games Launches Educational Games Platform to Support Nursing Curriculum in India

Focus Games, a UK-based game development company, has launched which offers online educational games to support the teaching of the new competency-based Bachelor of Nursing (BSc) curriculum.

The first set of 23 games has been released and is mapped to the new program to support the first semester. The company claims that more games will be released at the start of the new semesters.

“In the world of digitization where students are very tech-friendly, it is imperative to design digitized educational experiences to keep learners’ attention focused and aligned with learning. Digital educational games keep learners engaged and motivated to learn in an interesting and safe virtual space,” said Vinay Kumari, Professor and Principal of Chitkara University College of Nursing.

Games allow students to work in teams and help them develop the conscious skill they need to work effectively during internships and post-qualification. They improve the assimilation and retention of knowledge, but above all, they develop the confidence that students need to practice safely.

The games are developed in collaboration with eminent nursing professors from prestigious nursing schools in India including M. S. Ramaiah Institute of Nursing Education and Research, Bengaluru;

Chitkara University College of Nursing, Himachal Pradesh; Aligarh Muslim University College of Nursing, Aligarh; Aaffinity College of Nursing, Bangalore; Gokulam College of Nursing, Thiruvananthapuram; Dr Somervell Memorial CSI College of Nursing, Thiruvananthapuram.
