The games were very festive and colorful in Bacolod City as Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League (MPBL) title sponsor OKBet delivered on their promise to bring the city’s MassKara festival to life a few months earlier than planned.
OKBet, the rising star of the local sports entertainment industry and official partner of MPBL for its current fourth regular season, launched the two-day “OKBet Goes To Bacolod” event on July 18 at the gymnasium of the St. La Salle University, coinciding with highly anticipated regional basketball league games.
The MPBL featured matches between local team Bacolod Bingo Plus, Valenzuela City XUR Homes Realty Inc., Zamboanga Family’s Brand Sardines and Nueva Ecija Rice Vanguards.
A troupe of local performers dressed in kaleidoscopic costumes and their signature smiley masks entertained both the local crows and the passionate fans who flocked to the courtyard.
A special OKBet-branded booth was set up at the venue, where lucky fans had their hands full of goodies and prizes, including OKBet shirts, lanyards and the chance to meet and greet players.
The multi-sector company has also donated hygiene kits to the Bacolod city government as part of its ongoing series of corporate social responsibility initiatives that kicked off a week earlier in Muntinlupa.
This was done during the press conference organized by the Mayor of the city of Bacolod, Albee Benitez, which welcomed the MPBL delegates.
MPBL Commissioner Kenneth Duremdes officially welcomed OKBet as this season’s title sponsor on June 12 during a joint press conference at the Grand Ballroom at Okada Manila in Parañaque City.
Duremdes noted that both parties share a common goal of empowering homegrown talent to reach their full potential, especially during these challenging times as we are still recovering from the COVID-19 pandemic.
